I adore the intimacy of sketchbooks. I love the potential, the planning, the mishaps and the madness all contained within the pages. These pages reflect the visual juxtaposition of woman and vessel- both functional both useful. I enjoy the illicit pleasure of being a dysfunctional woman instead. A woman who is not useful, who doesn’t cook or clean. A woman who is not a utility or utilitarian. I enjoyed sketching these parodies of useful women merged with furniture and appliances.
